Hello fellow FirstOntario members, my name is Stu Walker, and I am asking for your support as I run for election for a final term on your Board of Directors.

During the past ten years on the Board, I feel I have taken the necessary steps to serve you better through experience, personal and professional development and I would like to continue using that knowledge by giving back to FirstOntario and its members what FirstOntario Credit Union has given to me. My ten-year journey and evolution led me to become Vice Chair of the Board last year and Chair of the Board this year.

I have always been a firm believer in the cooperative spirit of the credit union system whose values and principles are about giving forward to our communities not about improving shareholder value on the backs of its members

• 21 years financial Board experience
• 50 years as a credit union member
• 50 years of accounting, finance, and credit experience

• CCP professional designation in Credit Management, Credit Institute of Canada
• Audit Committee Certification and Chartered Directors Designation through the Directors College - a joint venture between McMaster University and the Conference Board of Canada
• Credit Union Directors Accreditation (ACCUD), Dalhousie University
• Numerous professional development offerings primarily through CuSource, the Institute of Corporate Directors, the Credit Institute of Canada and during the annual Directors Forum.

• 50 years of progressive accounting, finance, and credit experience retiring as a Credit Manager

• 10 years on FirstOntario’s Board of Directors
• 11 years on Prime Financial Credit Union’s Board of Directors, last two as Board Chair
• I have chaired the following FirstOntario Committees, Audit & Risk, Elections and Governance
• Previous Vice Chair of the Board and current Board Chair this year
